"How was your off-season?" I ask.

"It was Pimpin'."

"You know, Coach Mike, it was PIMPIN'."

"You mean like, Huggy Bear from Starsky & Hutch Pimpin? Do your parents know about this?!?", I ask incredulously.

"No, no, no. You know, like, it's all good."

Oh. I see. Pimpin'. But of course Ma petite m├ęsange.

So when we got home from practice, Tonya asked how practice went. (Yep, you know its coming....)

"Why, it was Pimpin'," then I walked away, grinning.

Should be a fun season.

I feel older and older by the minute. When you stop understanding what kids are saying does that mean you're officially an adult?!?!?

Coaching tweens and teens in Rec ball is not for everyone fer sure. A couple of them would be in a gang - or worse- if it wasn't for soccer so it is a challenge and honor to try and connect with these yutes (Joe Pesci - My Cousin Vinny. Anyone?)....

Not only do I feel old too but since many of them don't even speak English comfortably, I also feel a bit, uh, foreign. :)
